Icefisherman, which one did you get? I have been thinking about buying one for last year or so and just haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

Mine was the same way. Scared the heck out of me first time I had it out and tried 20 degree cone. It worked perfect using 8 degree. I was sorry I did the new update at first until I figured it out.

Same here with my original. Never had trouble with blades freezing up.

With all the talk about the new Marcum 6 and 7 update maybe you could do one of your new You Tube short shows on what the new update is and how to use it. I love the new show btw. I noticed the new views showing the fish hitting on the Marcums. Nice touch.

I had my LX-7 out the other day and finally had some time to mess with it after the update. I used gain 1 to. I did try gain 2 but I also had to jack up the sensitivity. If I remember right I also had to turn it up when using 20 degree cone angle even when in gain 1. But I do like the new update.

I just installed one on my boat last month. Have only had it out a couple of times, but I am liking it so far. Haven’t done much using GPS yet but it seems to do what I need it to. Haven’t decided on which lake maps chip to go with yet either.

As far as the dynamic depth glitch. What version are you running? Mine had that same problem until I did the latest update. Fixed it, now works perfect. The battery gauge should never be that low. At least mine never does. I have used mine for over 8 hours while it sat on the ice in my portable and mine never goes below 12.3 or so. Only problem I have is my charger rarely turns green when charged. I have to turn it on and look at battery gauge to make sure it is charged. If it is fully charged it shows HI-V.

Aaron, did you get it figured out? If not you may need to do an update. Mine would do all kinds of funny things before updating to latest version. Also try manual dynamic. You can also save your settings so next time out you won’t have to mess with them so much.

Slab, they had the shacks sitting on 15 to 17′ of water. They had 3 set fairly close. 2 of the 3 were good, the 3rd one produced only small ones so we used the other 2. All I know is it was around a mile up the shoreline. Went right from landing at the resort. Only second time I have been there and never got a chance to check lake map on my gps.

Had a great week fishing out of Bowstring Shores Resort last week. Darv and Marjean are the best. Cabin was great and the service we recieved was second to none. Hammered perch every day. Tried for crappies but never got any. Had the place pretty much to ourselves most of the week. Let us fish whatever shack we wanted. Darv made sure they were ready to go way before we were out on the ice.

I have been using one for 3 years now. I have 7 rods in it most of the time. Most of the rods are 28″ noodles with a couple 24″ ones mixed in. I have not had a rod break yet.

I have the same problem with my 1200 cottage. I usually stick my gloves and hat under the seat to get it to tilt back more.

Eskimo has great CS. I ordered a QUICKFISH 3i LAST month. When I set it up there was a piece of the stitching on the seam that was not done right. I called and had a new one at my door in less then a week. They sent a return postage via email to send old one back.

When I got my first one that was delivered damaged Marcum actually called me to let me know what was going on with mine. I have nothing but good things to say about Marcums and the customer service you get with them.

I went with garmin 62s and bought upper midwest fishing chip. Dead on accurate with water depths on my local lakes. Easy to use also. Garmin has excellent CS if you need something explained on how to use.

Google lx-7 video. I believe Brad Hawthorne did a pretty good video explaining alot about the 6 and 7. Also James did one on the new update and what it did.

I have the 5 and bought the 7 last year. I will not ever sell my 5 I like it that much. The 5 is a great unit. You won’t regret getting one.

For those of you who are using the new lithium battery and charger on your LX-7’s, are you using the same connectors or switching them out to the same kind that came with the 7’s? Seems like a pain to have to take case off every time you charge it. Or is there an easy way that I’m missing when it comes to hooking it up?

Not to hijack but does skeeter boat center in chippewa falls have a good selection? Would like to see one before ordering.

I was actually all set to buy a humminbird, until I saw James using a marcum on in depth outdoors. I went to local gander mountain. Looked at both units walked out with the LX-5. Thought the bird was way to bright. Had a lot of lights between top of dial and actual bottom. I switched to the 7 last year and love it.

My old trailer had the bearing buddies with the caps on them. I just regreased them a couple times a season. Had it for 20yrs and never had a bearing failure. Just made sure plenty of old grease came out.

I just went to a meeting about the Sherwood Lake drawdown and dam problem. There was a dnr rep there and he mentioned that Arbutus may be kept lowered for awhile due continuing dam work.

One word, Long! Spent 4 months on the ice. Way to much time clearing snow around the shack. I did enjoy using my new LX-7 all season though. This was the longest ice season I have had. Shack was on the ice the 13th of December. I just did my last day on the ice Wednesday.

They did close Arutus earlier this winter due to a drawdown to fix the dam I believe. I’m not sure how long it is scheduled to be closed. It also is very busy in the summer with jet skiiers and recreational boaters.

So funny you asked this question. I was just going to look for info on this very thing. I had 2 holes that kept freezing up on me in my house the other day. I only have a battery to run my lights off of now. But I was thinking about how I could add computer fans. I looked at some on line but it says they have 3 or 4 pin plugs on them. Wondering if you just cut those off and add battery connectors to them? I don’t have forced air just a vent free empire heater. Also what gauge wire I need to use.

I was in my local Ace Hardware store the other day and they had alot of them. With all the hype on here I had to buy a pack. I just need to find the time to get out and try them now.
