Mike was memorialized yesterday morning. It was a great service filled with tears and laughs. Mike was 40 when he passed on, leaving behind his wife and 3 kids. I’ll miss mike, but I’ll carry with me the fishing adventures, phone calls, texts and playing Xbox online with him and his son Cody. RIP Mike, you left us far too soon but those of us who got to spend time with you will carry on your memory forever.

Thanks to everyone who came out. The weather was less than desirable and the wind made it even more so but in the end we had 50 paid entrants with a bunch of kids. We only had 5 of the 6 species weighed in so the winners of the 5 categories pocketed $100. Not too awful bad for 6hrs of fishing. Hopefully next year the weather will be better and we can eclipse last year’s total of 60 people.

On a side note I was able to shake off the dreaded banana curse and put a nice batch of crappies of in the boat… Just so you know Kirt it is possible yo catch fish with a banana in the boat.

    Never seen a boat before…?

They’ve been docked in Winona open for tours. Pretty cool looking.

    Braun’s 10 best lies.

Looks like Braun studied the Lance Armstrong book of denial and mastered it.

After he’s done buying back all his jerseys for being liar and cheat, he could do us all a favor and just stay away from the game.

I wonder what his bro Rodgers has to say about him.

Guessing out loud here, but I doubt they’ll come back to the upper midwest again(hoping I’m wrong). Lots of the guys fishing this tourney have already said they wouldn’t want to come back. I can’t say that I blame them.

Nothing like pissing away millions of dollars in tourism over a stupid outdated rule.

We just drove by there on our way back from LaX. It didn’t look good, but glad to hear everyone is safe.

I picked close to a pound today. Took a lot of digging through the foliage to find them. The impending rains should only enhance that problem…

I found 6 greys and 1 yellow yesterday near La Crosse. I believe its still early down here. If the rains subside today I may run out and see if those 7 got any bigger and if they have any friends.

I’ll have an estimate for a 30 x 24 in a couple days. Once I have it I can pass it on to you.

Sundog. I’ve heard they’re a pretty good indicator that it will rain in the area within 24hrs when one is seen. That’s if you believe those wife’s tales.

I run a Lowe Roughneck with a coast guard bow and love it. It’s long and wide. Doesn’t get much better than that. It fishes 3-4 people easily.

Having run a flat-bottomed boat for years, I’d never go back. They are rough riding in any kind of waves.

I guess I got excited, knowing it was one entire year those dreaded Smallmouth could feast on baby Walleye and go unmolested.

Guess that’s what I get for getting my hopes up.

John Steers made it a yearly habit pulling Muskies from pool 4. Not that common but not all that uncommon either.

    Great Musky BTW.
