Another sub par hitting performance. 3-20 in the series with runners in scoring position. We have our pitching lined up for the Houston series but the hitters are still MIA.

    Not to mention the fielders.

Kepler and Royce Lewis activated of the IL today. Both will be present for the Houston series. Wallner and Garlick were sent back to St Paul. Great showing for Wallner. That kid could be a killer DH in the future if they can ever get Buxton out of that spot.

Would this lineup work for anybody?

    1b Kirilloff
    2b Polanco
    ss Correa
    3b Lewis
    lf Gallo
    cf Buxton
    rf Wallner / Kepler
    c whoever
    dh Kepler / Wallner

    Bench Larnach, Taylor, Julien

I would switch Kirilloff and Lewis and be good with it.

It wasn’t a batting order. Although it couldn’t be much worse.

That’s funny, because I actually liked it quite a bit as the batting order.

Man, I thought Lewis went yard on the first pitch he saw. Just a little on the end of the bat.

Nice to see him back. It will be a huge boost to the lineup if he can hit in the .280 – .290 range. I don’t like Gallo leading off but I’m not sure there is a better solution the way these guys are swinging.

At this point I’d like to see them just put the hottest hitter in the cleanup spot so at least there’s a good chance you put the ball in play. I’m so sick of strikeouts or double plays with guys in scoring position.

I sure hope we see Gray extended for at least another year. The guy’s leading the league in ERA and it keeps going down! Also hasn’t allowed a single HR this year which is pretty crazy to think about the way they have made the HR such a big part of the game.

He helps make it a legitimate rotation.

As good as Ryan is, if he keeps hanging breaking balls like this it’s going to be a long night.

The weight on the shoulders of these starters must be becoming tremendous. Give up 2 and it’s a good chance you lose.

Whats up with Morneau? Isn’t he doing road games this year? He wasn’t on the West Coast swing either. Don’t know that I want a steady diet of Bremer & Perk.

Perk is brutal. Whether it’s the BS stats he throws out or the constant word vomit I can’t stand it. Dick is even worse.

Last night Perk stated that a 100 year old woman “shot her shot” when it came to meeting her favorite player Max Kepler. That should never be uttered…..

Man Correa is really fighting it right now. When a guy takes as many strike 3’s down the middle as he has lately he just isn’t seeing the ball at all.

I’ve said this before but all you have to do to shut down this team is throw a guy that throws a bunch of junk.

I think he’s starting to feel the pressure also. Rocco should dump him down to 6 or 7 or bat him leadoff.

Time to get rid of Kepler and start Wallner. Bordelli will never do it though.

    Too much money in Kepler.

I’m partial to Wallner my son played with him in HS!

I’m a Kepler guy but he might be best suited as the 5th outfielder defensive guy. I agree I would like to see more of Wallner but I’ve also seen enough of Taylor I think.

That’s pretty cool! He sure made the most of his last stint up with the big club.

I don’t know how many years a guy (Kepler) has to bat .200 before you give up on him….

As long as Buxton isn’t playing CF everyday (which is probably forever), Taylor will be in CF. He’s a gold glover, and hits better than Kepler at the moment.

A baseball observation. It seems that the batters are all taking their timeout with 2 strikes. I’m sure it’s done to take a deep breath and try and figure out what the pitcher will be throwing next. I think the timeout actually helps the pitcher more. They can take a couple extra breaths and throw the pitch they believe in the most. I think it’s backfiring on the hitters.

    Just my observation.

2nd observation….Twins have no chance of beating Brown tonight.

I wonder if Rockhead tells the guys, “Don’t worry about winning today we’re gonna get some rest,” when he sends a lineup as awful as this one out on the field.

Some other fun news, our leading RBI guy has 27 RBI’s and is currently in AAA…..For reference the Astro’s leading RBI guy has twice that.
