Anybody ever use that stuff you wash your raingear with that brings back the repellent. Have an old set of Fenwick raingear I thought I would try it on.

I tried some Nikwax spray for breathable. It kinda worked but not anywhere close to the coating on a new jacket.

Be sure you don’t fill the washing machine too full of clothes. All the soap needs to be rinsed off well or it will transport moisture through the “holes” in the gore-tex. My oldest jacket had taped seams and the tape came loose so I sprayed the seams on the inside and the outside of the garment with the same waterproofing spray I used to use when I had a tent. The spray may leave a discolored area but that beats getting wet.
