Lake Macbride fishing from the new guy

    I was at Lake Macbride the other day fishing near the powerlines and caught 50-60 bluegill most being around 4inches….caught around 20 pansized gills and about 10 nice crappie…i was just wondering if anyone else has ventured out around there?

    Another Iowan? Man, we’re taking over.

    I’m surprised the power lines are safe; I was down there last weekend and there was still open water in places. Good to hear about all the small gills; last winter was the first time I’ve ever caught any to speak of in that lake. Usually it’s a good place to sit and catch the occasional walleye or crappie – all about the same size at 7-8 inches unfortunately!
