A friend of mine sent me these pictures of P2 this afternoon. He said you could almost hop across the river between ice chunks and huge trees. Looks like the Minnesota River has let loose. I imagine P4 will be seeing something similar too.

Would anyone have intel on the north side, and how the Rum is doing? Sure can mess up the river south of there for travel for a lil while.
March 7, 2016 at 7:26 pm #1605011Kwp sounds like there was a ice jam around Jordan that broke up yesterday.
Nhamm not much ice floating tonight South of CR dam.

March 8, 2016 at 3:47 am #1605064What is the snow cover like up that way? From what I have pulled up, looks like 3″ to a trace???
March 8, 2016 at 6:12 am #1605068We don’t have any snow left besides a couple stubborn plow piles here in the western metro of mpls.

What he said! Smells humid out there this morning…I love it!
March 8, 2016 at 8:32 am #1605087Drove home yesterday morning from minneapolis to mille lacs. The rum was still locked up. It is getting close though. There isn’t any run off this year as we didn’t have alot of snow and what snow we did have has melted off already. In Anoka it was still ice covered but well on its way to opening up.

She learned all that from her old man.
March 11, 2016 at 7:30 am #1605854Not much to talk about as far as the flush. Water came up a little. Tribs aren’t swollen…water temp has been 41 for the last couple day. More reports of large fish popping up and I spoke with one fella yesterday that had 9 eaters for three people in his boat.
March 11, 2016 at 7:43 am #1605862Last sunday was worse than saturday for ice coming down the river. Plenty of ice to launch the boat into at lilydale ramp sunday morning. Had a log jammed under the motor while trying to launch. Current was swirling pretty fast at the ramp. I would say if you are worried about your boat bumping something on the river right now might want to wait till after the spring thaw to put it in.
