GPS Antenna?

    Is the Antenna built in on the Humminbird SI units? Thanks.

    External on my 997.

    Comes with the package though… They are the newer, more accurate puck antennas….

    Can you get it with the internal? Do some of the other models have internal?

    Not that I’m aware of, but Jason would know better than myself… Or just take a look at the specs at http://www.humminbird.com.

    I guess to me, an external antenna is preferable for a number of reasons, but I suppose everyone is different…

    The only currenty SI model with an internal antenna is the 798ci. The 997 and 1197 use external antennas only.

    I think I agree that the external may be better. Somebody called me and was wondering about it. I had looked on the Humminbird site, and it indicated some models had built in antenna, but I was unsure which model(s).

    Just the smaller ones, JD. But the larger units have external antenna only.
