What is the best method for going about getting a loan for a used boat from a private seller? The marine dealer I was at had a decent loan term/financing, but the boat sold before I could convince myself that it was a good price for the boat. I see some boats in the same general range through private sellers, but the bank/credit union does not allow for a long enough term to make the payments doable. What have you guys done?

April 1, 2010 at 1:40 pm #859675I was just considering financing a used boat. CCFCU sounds like a great place to work with. Their rates and terms are posted right on their website. For boats older than 2003 you will pay a higher interest rate, but Bob said financing them is no problem.
April 1, 2010 at 1:44 pm #859677I also suggest getting ahold of Mr. Bowman. In under a year he has saved my wife and & I a ton of $. Truck refinance, home improvement loan for 300+ft of privacy fence and the boat loan.
Plus he isn’t too bad at catching those toothy critters!
April 1, 2010 at 1:59 pm #859683Actually.. Bob is out this week… I was dealing with him on an Auto loan!
But If this is something you want done to dat call and ask for Kellie Dewars she’ll hook you up!
