20 Year Anniversary….

    Today marks the 20th Anniversary of the Battle of Mogadishu in Somalia (The movie Blackhawk Down was based on this attack). I have a friend that was actually in one of the helicopters that crashed in that attack. He was actually the first Army Ranger to come back to active duty as an amputee, lost one of his legs from the knee down. Brad, I’m sure this is one anniversary that you don’t like to celebrate, but I’m glad you are around to see it. Honoring those that died that day.

    We actually just talked about the battle of Mogadishu in class today since it was the anniversary. My history professor lost a friend in that battle, he even got teary eyed, something which I never expected, he is a very rough and tough stoic guy but actually broke down during his lecture. It was very hard to watch for me, because I know how hard it would be for me if I lost a cherished friend in such a manner. Makes you once again appreciate those who are and have served this great country so valiantly.
