Where are you guys locating walleye ( depth, structure, ect..) in lakes this time of year?

That’s a really good question. I’ve been to 9 lakes since opener and haven’t found one eye. Sure found the snakes though. Making the 5 hour trek to red doesn’t seem feasible either. Spent this winter rereading lindners walleye wisdom. The 1.5 million stocked seem to vanish. Help me too.

I finally found a few this weekend, it was on a shallow lake (only 14′ at the deepest), just off the weed line. With the smaller lakes warming faster, it seems the bite has turned on quicker on these lakes.

Not that I’ve been able to get there but the eyes are biting in 5′ on blackduck.leeches.

On the St. Croix this time of year (for this year with the high water) fish near shore to the first break line. Good luck.
