    Hello,

Well me and a buddy went out on pool 2 as we normally do targeting flatheads, we didn’t have any expectations of catching any as are luck has been horrible lately. Well we both managed a flat both on the smaller size but still fish. One around 8 lbs and one about 15 lbs and I had 2 good runs but bait got dropped and my buddy had a big one on that got him hung up in the wood.

    Take care everyone!

We caught five P2 flatties on Sat. Biggest was about 23lbs. A few over 10 and a couple of dinks.

Lots of numbers the past few times I’ve been there, but no big fish yet.

    P2 is underrated no doubt.

P2 is my favorite haunt, but lately my best spots have been seriously dried up. I’m gonna have to move up or down stream to find some fish.

I’m looking to get out this week… here’s to hoping! Good to know they’re around again!

Seriously? Dude, that’s some major suckage. I had no idea they had actually made it this far… I thought they were gonna be a couple years yet!

That depends on if you cut it up for chum or not.

Did you report it? Have they been reported in pool 2 yet? I’d think the DNR might want to now.

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen em on p2 and p3 as well. DNR kid checking trailers for weeds told me earlier in the year that they’ve been spotted at pepin already, so I’m not surprised they’re upstream from there already.

According to the DNR, there have been sightings in MN as far north as the St Croix and one was caught in Pepin, but there are no breeding populations here.

    Here’s the DNR’s page on bighead/silver carp:

PS – There’s a link on that page to report sightings, too.

And there’s no cougers in MN either!
