Baby Northerns or Muskies

    A smallie I caught tonite on the river was coughing these up in the boat..what do people think..northerns or muskies?

    I’m guessing you meant to include a picture but if they aren’t digested to far there’s a good chance of identifying them. There are pores on the underside of they’re jaw northern pike have 5 and muskies have 8. Northers will also be bigger this time of year due to spawning around ice out while muskies usually spawn once the water gets into the 50’s.

    yea for some reason the site is not letting me upload the pic I have..one is pretty white from digestion but the other is pretty green still..about three inches long..

    its ok if there muskies!!!!!!!! whistling just kidding!!!!!!

    i’ve seen alot of odd stuff in the bellies of fish over the years!!!!!! would be cool to see.

    hmmm pretty close actually, a little paler but that could just be from digestion…I’m going with Muskie…sounds cooler. peace

    Or maybe grass pickerel… I caught white bass on the river that puked a really fresh one last year.
