    Hi Tyler

I have spent a lot of time in the Grand Mesa near Vega. Question for you. Did you hike in or ride ATVs? I know the Mesa has a ton of ATV trails. Love watching your videos!

    Rick

90% of the time we hike in….To the really deep stuff though we take my buddies 1996 Jimmy and go rally. He got it lifted and put a big steel plate on the bottom. When we are going through, people on Razors and 4-wheelers look at us, point and laugh😂

Can I come out and visit sometime? LOL

If you do man, there is SO many places for Campground camping and dispersed camping, you can’t go wrong. The Grand Mesa is HUGE and has over 300+ lakes/streams, pretty easy to get away from people lol.

Man I need to get back out west, beautiful pics as always!

This will be my first year since 2017 not heading west in the fall, but can’t wait to get back out there. The FW DEFINITELY would not appreciate me elk hunting two weeks before kiddo #3 is due to arrive. chased

LOL Fair enough! Well hopefully next fall you can come out and get one! Get some lines out too if you can🎣

    Nice job…. beautiful area.

Thank you! It’s certainly an area I would recommend to any visitors. There is a really awesome river with big trout in it a short distance away. We will be uploading part two of the trip, fishing that shortly😀

Sorry to here about Cheyenne. There has been a few accidents on 70 this year. We saw one a week ago last Sunday where a small car got the front ran over by a semi trailer just out of DeBeque canyon. Not sure what happen to that driver. Prayers for her recovery. And sorry for the loss of her dog. Dude we still need to hook up on a float this year maybe upper CO River if you are interested. Clad to see that you have picked up the fly rod. Throwing those minnow baits catch the fish We are heading for the Henry’s fork end of may to hopefully hit the salmon fly hatch this year.

I-70 can be so dangerous during winter. Just happy she is alive. Appreciate the support! We’ll have to link up for sure man! Send me a message so we can see if we can coordinate something.

Great pictures and Video as always. All those fish are beautiful but the Brook Trout are most beautiful. I use to do a fair amount of stream trout fishing in our SE Minnesota area. Its been too many years since I’ve made the drive in the spring to fish them. I mat have to change that this next spring.

Appreciate that a lot! Glad to hear you enjoy the post and video. Brook Trout are one of my GF’s favorite looking fish, easy to get her out on the ice if I say we’re targeting that lol. Hope you do and hope you get into a bunch of them🎣

glad you are still at it Tyler. i did not watch the video but that scenery will just make me jealous! brookies are by far the most beautiful freshwater fish of all time.

No worries about the video haha! Just happy you enjoyed the post. The scenery is always one of the best parts of ice fishing out here in CO!

Well that’s interesting. Here in Minnesota there is a stunted pike problem!

My uncles have told me about a few lakes like that up there…Ya this lake in the video, there have been Tens of thousands of stunted perch removed over the years from CPW and fisherman, we’ve barely put a dent in it lol

Why didn’t you keep the pike? They’re the one species that really does need to be harvested.

    Tyler,
Although I regularly read your posts and watch your videos, I have yet to thank you for posting your adventures, videos and breathtaking scenery. Thank you for posts as they offer the the escape from reality that I sorely need. I hope to someday experience the same and share them as well (but not as well as you do). Please keep them coming, I need the opportunity to live vicariously through them!
    regards,
    Cliff

    Cliff,

Thank you for the kind words! I appreciate them greatly and I do my best to provide quality content. You’ll have to make it out here to the mountains sometime to get some lines out😀 Have a good weekend

I often think it sounds like to much work to hook boat up to truck lol

Funny thing is, I sold my 14 foot john boat this past spring because I always thought it was too much work😂
