Need one, absolutely!! But affording one is a whole new story, let alone getting it by the boss. Why not charge that much, have you seen what people are paying for new boats and trucks. They will fly off the shelf, just not land in my old rig.

Check out the guys over at Solo Hunters. They have recommendations on their website and have some great shows.

I am not a fan of fried or baked catfish. We were on a run this year where we couldn’t get away from them. A neighbor suggested that we smoke them. I brined them for 24-36 hours and then smoked them with apple wood. They turned out great; they are perfect on a Ritz cracker with your favorite beverage.

If we caught one to mount it would definitely be a replica. Never thought of Rainy, Watched several videos and looks like a great opportunity. Thanks for the advice and who knows, maybe catch the next trophy tomorrow here at home.

Each line has its time. I just watched the Jason M video last week. One reason he wanted mono was for the stretch, with the stretch he said his jig didn’t have the jerky instant movement of braid. When I am jigging I will try both lines. Sometimes the lack of feel and stretch allow a walleye to inhale the jig completely without us feeling each other. I think that fishing one type of line is like using one type of lure.

I use pints. I experiment with each batch I make, different flavors. Make some hot and some plain. The best thing I have found for flavor is adding a chunk of beef fat (from the local butcher). I add the fat to all jars. Canned deer makes lots of great dishes, anything you make the uses beef. Chili is by far my favorite; I use the hot batch for that.

Sounds about right, I would play with the leader/dropper. I like a 12-15inch dropper with 3-4ft lead on stick bait. Depends on where the fish are relating to the bottom. I use it in a river system with good current. I have been trying the jig/plastic (dropper) with a worm on three way. Check out Tommy Skarlis video.

I am in the same boat as you grouse; only I need two. I have a 6 yr old that loves to shoot and a 10 yr old who is good with the recurve. Have any of you fellers looked at the PSE Guide (heritage) youth bow? It has some higher quality aspects without the price. I would like something a little nicer but not ready to drop $200 each.

I went though the same search a few years ago. Only place to find them is in the back of old bait shops or ebay. They seem to be super spendy for a good one. I retired my dad’s old frog pattern to the wall with the bass it caught. Good Luck.

Has anyone ever ordered a kit online. We have a creek bottom that will have the occasional shroom but nothing to get excited about. We have been mulling over the idea to buy some spores online and plant them in the creek bottom. Just wanted to get others opinion on the idea.

The thread has been deleted by the mods. It was more of one fella fanning the flames that already exist. It was assumed early on that this is the only reason for the person to post on the forum. A lot of the comments were inteneded to get the thread deleted. Don’t get me wrong, the legislature in SD needs to decide one way or the other on the issue. There is still great fishing in SD and not as much trouble as it seems.

Bring a metal coffee can and some charcoal out. Chip a hole next to the hole your fishing out of even with water level, then put the coffee can half full of charcoal in the chipped hole fire it up and fish away. We use this method when fishing tournaments and aren’t allowed to use fish houses.

This is the best method we found. I just set the can about 1 inch from the hole and it will work its way down. Half a can of charcoal will last several hours and double for heating up the hotdogs.

Rapala makes a eye buster that I like better than the red one. I buy the 3 piece lanyard with a clipper, hook sharpener and eye buster.

The smell of the tail race waters below a dam in the middle of a a frosty night. Flatulence after cleaning about 30 pheasants and drinking beer.

I touch up all hooks before I bait a hook and touch up after a snag or couple of fish. My mother owns a beauty shop and those emery boards work wonders. I haven’t paid for a file in yrs. So raid your wife’s drawer and hit the water.

I had the same problem. One of the batteries was not putting out 12v. Check the batteries before sending the unit in, Walmart or service center should do it for free.

#12 Triline Big Game. It all depends on personal preference. I like the stretch of mono when pulling cranks, less rip outs tried braid last year and switched back. My dad runs power pro on his trolling set up, he likes the feedback from braid. I would suggest trying braid on one, mono on another. That way you will get a feel for what works best for you. Personal preference is the key with line.

I posted too soon and thank you guys for the replys. A guy at work overheard me talking about mowers and he has a couple year old one that he just wants out of the garage. It was given to him by a family memeber when they moved. Talk about a score on a Thursday.

I took the kids out the other night and the White Bass were hammering the Raps. The were also hitting at the very top of the stroke. It seemed like most of them were slashing at it. The ones that I caught would have the whole lure engulfed.
