If you want the best Deli sandwich of your life, go to Katz Deli on E. Houston St. I have eaten hundreds of sandwiches from there. I recommend the Pastrami on Rye. Great steaks at Peter Luger’s just over the Williamsburg Bridge in Brooklyn. McCann’s Bar just across the street from MSG. If you want some great places that are off the beaten path, shoot me a pm. I can go on and on. I sure do miss home sometimes. Have a great trip.

I never expected to get tipped from any client. But on occasion I did receive tips and it was very much appreciated. I also have given some money back or offered a cut rate on an other trip if the fishing was horrible bad. Most of the time I was given the money back. I guess I can count that as a tip also. 99 percent of the time I do tip someone that gives me personal service. Just my two cents.
May 20, 2012 at 12:30 pm #1069446This has happened to me more times then I care to remember. It’s upsetting to say the least. One thing you can’t change is ignorance. I’ve had to bite my tongue many times when I had clients in the boat. When I’m with friends I tend to let it all hang out. I hate to say it, but get use to it.
May 4, 2012 at 4:20 pm #1065653Tournament on the Illinois is CANCELLED! Flash flooding is the cause.
May 3, 2012 at 2:50 pm #1065243Most of the guys that fish this circuit fish the Illinois River. If you have ever fished the Illinois you know that there are no secret spots, just follow the rest of the boats to find the fish. I heard a few teams fished on 14 last week and couldn’t find any fish. You can take it from there. I feel for the guys that booked rooms in advance and took the time off from work. Well I’ve said enough.
May 3, 2012 at 10:28 am #1065153Fishing Heidecke Lake the past few weeks with SD hooks with a few beads and a smile spinner has put some nice fish in the boat. Crawler have out fished leeches. Adding a spinner has not changed the action of the SD. hook at all.

March 20, 2012 at 10:51 am #1050668You should have gotten better gas mileage on the way home from all the jigs I lost.

Nice job guy’s ! You didn’t miss much over here .The bite was a little better today, but still very slow for this time of the year. We had 11 fish , but only 3 of them were decent eyes. The rest were 13 to 15 inch saugers.
Good to see you got out there Mica. It’s alway nice to hear that the bite is starting to pick up again. Hope to see you out there soon.

Great pics…you mentioned casting. I always thought one vertical jigged for saugers?
The conditions were just perfect for pitching plastics yesterday. We also threw some cranks when things got slow and managed to put 3 or 4 fish in the boat.

too bad this post had to get off track.
that is a great fish and just crazy that it was caught two months after the 51-year-old record was broken from the same river.
congrats to the fisherman, who definitely earned it.
Here,here.
