Bone is a pretty good lake… Lots of #s. IMO i would fish it during the week. Lots of traffic on weekends. Work small gliders fast and erratic. Also drop off the edges w/ mag dogs. These fish see alot of lures, so speed may help along w/ nite fishing, we tried nite fishing a few times w/ nothing, but i would imagine it could be good out there at nite.

Breaking three Diamondbacks last season was pretty dumb. Stepped on one when I was telling myself not to step in that particular spot less than a minute prior. Set my rod down to net a fish for a buddy, go to pick it up and it broke in half(reminder: don’t set my rod down under the cleat)…and caught about a 6 Lb. Northern, decided not to net it, came out of my hand, dropped my rod, and snapped it on the edge of the boat.

Is that covered under warranty? I am guessing not.

i will start. backed the trailer off a wooden landing at leech, submerged the whole trailer and didnt think was going to get it back. forgot release tools last august and tried to hand bomb a 42 inch fish which resulted ER Room with 4 stitches till 2am. while casting a topwater i must have had 2 much snap in the wrist, line broke and whole rod n reel to the bottom, never got it back!!!!!!

Would have to go w/ the Pounders and Jakes. I have a bunch of Double 10’s, just dont seem to catch much on them. Wish i had Mallards black bulldog. Picked up 3 Blou Blings last week and 2 new Jakes this week. I think Suzy Sucker will become a top choice soon.

Abu 7000 would be my choice. I only went through one reel this yr and Abu had a new one to me within 7 days. I thought that was excellent customer serivice. First year since i started fishing muskies 4 years ago i havent gone thru atleast 3 reels. I probably could have fixed some, but prefer to get a new one under warranty rather than continue to fix em.

I wish we could get a night bite on our Clear waters. Weekends are busy with pleasureboaters and more and more muskie guys out and about. Although alot of our fish were boated between noon and 5. Only a few a dusk and maybe only 1 or 2 before noon. No topwater and no night bite here to speak of.

no topwater bite at all here. midday bite almost all yr. slow at what i thought would be prime times . blue bird days produced fish. let down by really good condition days w/ overcast, wind, storm approaching, etc.

oh, theres more than just those 2 tankers from last Sat. Theres 2 more other than the ones on this site. 55.5 and 54.5, 27.5 and 27 girth respectively. sat was a huge day out there, i am sure there were more caught, lost, seen, etc that day of that caliber fish.

    Hey Guys,

Have been searching for a new boat and having trouble finding much. I have been looking on walleyecentral and that has been the best by far. Does anyone know any other sites that have good numbers of walleye/panfish boats for sale? Have tried some of the local boat dealers stores but they have very little for used inventory.

    Thanks,
    afull

I would post what you are looking for with the price range, style, and some options of what you are looking for and some people may contact you with what they are willing to sell. I posted a wanted add on craigslist and crystal pierz classifieds and that worked well.

I hope nobody wasted their weekend watching Minnesota sports and got out slingin’. Just looking for an update on how everyone did. I was hoping with the full moon late last week, I would have gotten some action around moonset. I went back to the same lake as last Saturday, put in the same effert without a dang blow up, hit, swipe, nadda. Just when ya think you have a pattern figured out – bang, the ski’s give ya the finger or should I say fin. Maybe I should have took a shot after dark. Couldnt tell ya if I had any follows cause the water visibility is about 2 inches – no lie. Almost resorted to trolling

You must have been on Rush Lake? I have never seen such poor water clarity as that lake has?

I got 5 but its a tough bite overall. All you can do is keep casting and cranking and hoping for a window. Seems like the fish are still all over, some on top, some deep, some on weeds, some on hard bottoms?? Heard of some real big fish being caught during the full moon, at daytime, not at night???

oh yeah, its super shallow. no buoys left and one could very, very easily wreck a boat. i beached my boat out there earlier this yr in 1 fow. its even lower now. i nailed something real hard on 10-22 but fortunately didnt do any damage. probably a dead head.

As of 10-22, still pea soup. Fished East and West on 10-22. Never saw a fish. Trolled, casted, shallow, deep, weeds, etc. Lots of bait on the edges. Anyone having any good results on Rush?

get rid of Childress, Brian Mckinney, and T. Jackson and thats a whole new team. i think that would be a huge difference. horrible coach. watch mckinney for a few passing plays, even run plays, that guy gets worked bad.

The water temp is 20??? Anyone driving on the ice yet???

Central Minnesota is definetly at turnover, northern mn should be done, and metro will be starting very soon.

all i can say is head north, turnover is crushing us. trying to fish through it and its not happening.

I saw two different muskies in the same day on two different sides of Mille Lacs lake do that same thing. Swimming with their heads about 1-2 feet out of the water. I wonder why they do that??? They look foolish swimming like that. Its strange because thats the only time I’ve ever seen it happen and I saw it happen twice in same day. I think, if I remember right, it was sometime in late August….so it might have something to do with the very warm water temperatures????

They do that after being nailed in the head by a cowgirl. Probably feeling dizzy . I saw it twice. Both on Mille Lacs and both time were like 1am or 2am, shined the spot light on em, didnt even care. Tried to bounce topraiders off there heads, then they swim away.

Got another one that just came to mind. ( i believe this too) a friend of mine told me this story of one evening he was fishing Sugar Lake. He said he was casting a shorline and looked over at this poodle at the end of the dock. He said the poodle jumped off the dock and WHAM, musky crushed it and a little old lady was going nutz, “wheres my poodle”, and frantically yelling for her poodle, the dog never came up.

    Minnetonka has turned over.

Aquaview camera w/ temp sensor shows the temp at 20′ is the same as the surface temp in multiple parts of the lake.

Thanks appreciate that, i had a buddy trying to tell me tonka has not turned over yet, and would be a few weeks yet.

I’ve had many odd experiences while fishing, but I’ll share the most recent “odd experience” while fishing. I had been musky fishing all day and it was getting close to dark, which is my favorite time to be on the water, right before dark and shortly after dark because fish seem to be more active. Well…my locater stopped working right before dark….so I had to end my trip early even though it was dark already. I pulled up to the boat landing dock and it was completely dark. I noticed a quite large animal staring at me from the cement slab of the landing at the edge of the water. My first thought was that it was a deer….but I looked at it longer, and it wasn’t leaving, and it wasn’t scared of the boat or the noise from the motor. I turned the motor off and I stayed in the boat staring at this wierd creature. All I had for light was my head lamp, and the reflection from my light on to its eyes still scares the crap out of me today. As I stared at this animal it stared back and didn’t move an inch as I was only about 40-50 feet away from it. They appeared to be large cat-like eyes and very creepy and suspicious looking. What was only probably 10 minutes, which seemed like an hour, the creature slowly walked a couple steps away and would stop and stare back, and continued to do this until it went into the woods which is only another 30 yards from the landing. I waited probably another 30 minutes before I walked to my truck while carrying a knife with me, lol. I was shaken up for a couple days after this because that was a very strange acting creature. I could also slightly see the image of the animal and it had a long and some-what bushy tale, so obviously not a deer. Very large animal as well. I can still visualize those eyes, something I’ll never forget and something that I’ve definitely never seen before. I believe I saw a cougar, and that might be hard for many to believe….but honestly I don’t know what else it could be. I was on Lake Alexander, which is close to Camp Ripley, and there has been quite a few sightings in that area. I was at the boat landing on the west side during the middle of the week, and I was the only one there as it was very quiet. Those eyes were the biggest cat looking eyes I’ve ever seen.

I heard the word is the Baby Mallard has been nailem muskies latetly?

I watched a show on eagles a week before a trip near Park Rapids, MN. In this documentary, it stated that “Fisher Eagles” (like Bald Eagles and the like) don’t eat other animals so fish habitat is extremely important to their survival.

Got on the lake, fishing……… see a BIG bald eagle fly over……. all of a sudden it banks back and dives into the reed bed we’re fishing the edge of and takes off with a gossling!!! Momma honker was going ballistic and didn’t shut up for half an hour but that eagle took that honker…… good sized at that……. and flew over to it’s nest and dropped in with dinner.

I couldn’t help but mention, “You never see that in the documentaries!”.

good one Kid, i know u got more……..
