What a difference a day makes!

My son Todd and I finally got out fishing togather Sunday morning for a few hours and the walleye cooperated ,Although we never caught a fish over 18 ” we were able to get a two man limit trolling “5 jointed shad raps in firetiger, within a couple hours.
We also tried casting cranks at current breaks ,catching ,largemouth ,smallmouth, white bass and this cat that we were sure would be a nice eye .

Sunday morning the river stage was 7.4 ,by the time I got back out This morning the stage was 5.85 and the fishing was much tougher, catchig three eyes with none over 16″ in three hours of fishing.
It looks like there is good news and bad news for the RCL. champonship guys ,the projected stage is 4.9 by Aug 2 and should stay stable through the end of Sept,But with the new slot limit (20″-27″)fish must be released .Guys there isn,t a lot of walleye over 27″ caught here,so (hint )It would be good to find a lot of 19.5″ fish.
