Think it’s time for Donny barrels to lead off.

Twins making news about extending Pablo Lopez for 4 years at $73 million. That would be a steal if he keeps pitching like he is. Said to be happening soon.

When was the last time the Twins beat the Yankees 3 of 4? Probably been a long time. What a series and this pitching staff is continuing to impress.

It was a series split I think.

I was listening to the pregame show after they took the first two games and the stat was the Twins haven’t won 3 in a row in NY since 93. shock

I consider the split a good starting point. Not happy with how they played in the third game.

Beer and concessions sales are really going to plummet with all of the low scoring games they are playing (I know they already extended beer sales to the 8th inning)!!

Tough 1st inning for Gray. 29 pitches, lucky to only be down 1-0.

Sale is mowing the Twins down. But Gray somehow got through 5. 1-1 right now.

Kepler just hit one about 18″ over the right field wall. 2-1 Twinks.

perhaps a new era of twins baseball is here? gone are the days of drafting and bringing up mediocre arms since the days of Santana and Liriano. this may be the best pitching ensemble i have seen. still playing good defense and they got to have one of the hardest throwing pens in the league? plenty of time to disappoint but the early schedule is super loaded so any winning record has to be somewhat impressive. lets hope injuries don’t derail this squad…..sure would be nice to see how it shakes out.

The question is will the pitching hold up until the bats heat up. The best thing about this run is Rocco can’t burn the bullpen up.

I was just a little whipper snapper watching Blyleven, Viola and Morris. Got lucky to watch Santana, Liriano and others but my oh my there was nothing even close to Duran…..nothing! even the ump about fell over on that heat….sheesh

It’s a different game today. In the old days the starters goal was to finish games. They would pace themselves and actually knew how to pitch. There was no padding all up and down the batters. Pitching inside was a art and encouraged. Today it’s go as hard as you can as long as you can. Throwing inside is a lost art. While I like the pitching the Twins have today I miss the old days of hard nose baseball.

Wasn’t a bullpen loss. Pretty fitting that the softball game was lost in a softball size park.

Duran had 19 pitches total in the 9th, you send him back out there to close it in 10th when Twins had a two run lead. That’s exactly what it was, a bullpen loss.

You won’t see Duran going 2 innings likely ever. Rocco knows where his bread is buttered. If the kid doesn’t reach first on the strikeout does Boston have the big inning?

Doesn’t matter, they blew another game they should have won.

Forsure, Your prolly right him never pitching two innings. I don’t agree with it, best players should be out there to close the game. Get the W and give him rest the next day if they are worried about it.

THe end started with the runner getting to third on the catcher interference call. Our first baseman made a mistake there.
    That rule is BS
It was a bullpen loss –
Catcher should have held onto the ball – needed that out
GREAT heads up double play by Miranda
Buxton 0-13? Thank god he doesn’t play hockey. One butterfly bandage vs 75 real stitches would kill him.
THe team looks good – it’s early, we have a decent rotation and bullpen for once.
    Keep the faith folks

Be fun to see if Ryan can get to 4-0. He could use some help from the offense.
