After having driven 125 miles one way last last thurs or fri (when you are retired days and dates get mixed up), and fishing from 9 am to 8 pm with not even a bite, today was very satisfiying. Phil and I started about 7:30 am and fished till 3pm with a lunch break and went off the lake aour limit of walleyes and 11 sub-keepers(released). In between the walleyes were 3 very nice smallies that were gently released. All were caught in 8 to 11 feet of water using a 3-way and small minow on a red and white spinner with a floater ahead of the hook or a red and white spinner with small leach.correction: 1 walleye on a 5 in. fire tiger husky jerk and the smallies on the leech setup. I might add the lake was very calm and the water extreemly clear.““`Thanks for listening““Gene H.

    Nice work Gene!
Spirit can be a tricky body of water, as I’m sure you know. Must have been nice to be out when things were calm
