Shaved my llama this morning

Actually it’s my wife’s llama. It wasn’t easy and there was quite the struggle. It’s been a year, so it was pretty shaggy, but now the llama should be much cooler. Now I have a big bag full of the fur.

Is there anything I can do with this big bag of llama hair? Seems like a waste just to throw it away.

There has to be a really good or really bad joke in here somewhere but I can’t think of it!

Not sure if this is a joke or not…. crazy

However if you are serious you may want to visit a local Alpaca farm and see if they have any use for it or know of someone who does. Llama and Alpaca fur can be fairly valuable. Especially if its straight hair fibers, curly hair fibers are less desirable.

You could donate some of it to the birds! Leave some clumps sitting out and birds will use it for their nests.

rotflol Glad to see I was not the only one scared. Do their necks look longer? Not sure how to do it but I hear llama fur makes great blankets.

Not certain but I believe you are thinking of Alpaca hair.

Oops, sorry to get your hopes up…I read ‘llama’, but saw ‘alpaca’. It’s worthless unless you can get Phil to weave up a nice hoodie for you.

Actually if it’s the right type of llama it can sell for just as much as Alpaca.

My wife had a llahma. I hated that thing and the feeling was mutual. She also makes her own yarn. But not out of llahma hair. Alpaca hair is great for knitting. Alpaca has guard hairs that make it undesireable for yarn. Like Sharon said you can donate it to the birds or use it to cover your wifes rose bushes in the fall.
