River above Lynxville dam.

    Hello,
    Drove up to Onalaska from Prairie Du Chien this pastweekend.
    The river there is extremly wide without any islands or back waters, how much of this is fishable in the summer?
    Are there deeper pools in this vast area beyond the main channel?
    Are there any wing dams ?
    I fish pool 11 and this is a totally different type of river than what I am used to.
    Just curious as to how this part of the river is fished.

    Yes lots of fishable water. Has silted in badly though. Have to know where you are going and Im not your expert. I agree, it’s a different river up there. GPS is a good idea too. Not hrs to get yourself lost in the maze of backwater sloughs.
