North Lake heads up

Was down there today checking on how high the water is. DNR has posted a good size chunk of the south end as a no trespassing waterfowl refuge. This effectively cuts off Brewer Lake and Buffalo Slough from the North Lake landing. I called the DNR to verify no boating through the effected area. They said it has been a no trespassing water fowl resting area for some time now but this is the 1st time posted as such. They informed me that this is seasonal and runs from just before duck season till it closes. I am probably not the best public service announcement guy so check it out for yourself if you plan on going there.

Is this a new off limits area? I know the one end was refuge but not sure if this is the same one

The south end has been refuge for 40 plus years I have used the lake.

Not new, the same one but now posted. It was just new to me. I was concerned it was a new permanent year round no tresspass area.

The buoys are there year round usually. I ignore them spring and summer
