I’ve been doing okay this past week for bluegills, drifting butterworms over the weeds. The crappies have been coming on Gene Larew Baby Shad. Electric Chicken and Chartreuse sparkle have produced the most. The 5 boys in tuxedos and two gills came tonight after supper. The small gill is almost exactly 9″. Both of those girls hit a chicken.

A butterworm looks like a waxworm on steroids.
It’s about three times as long and at least twice as fat.

Most are imported from Chile. They have a somewhat fruity smell. They seem expensive, but one worm will last for several fish. I like them with a #6 cricket hook.
