I’ve never seen anything that will hold like a waterspike. You do need to use a lot of extra rope with that design. If you try and get by with a short leash you’ll work the diggers up out of the sand. I’d be interested in seeing photos of those other designs if you can come up with them.

What is the rule of thumb…3X the depth I think?
The Water Spike with plenty of line out and the Drop-N-Stay bungy that Dean sells should tame that sand in a hurry!
Which size of Water Spike were you using?
That can be a factor as well. But we all know there are days when it is impossible.

The 2 line bill DID make it through committe along with the repeal of the 4-point rule and taking away the decision rights of the DNR, oh yeah, lets allow the party hunting again as well! 
The two line bill typically makes it through committee each year if I recall correctly. I still have no worries about the APR being pulled.
