Earlier this month, I think Randy posted a question about his boat icon not lining up with his current track after performing a software update on his 1197. Here’s the resolution, straight from Humminbird HQ:
#1- The user must decide if they want to save the current track.
#2- If they want to save the current track they simply press the MENU button when in the GPS screen and select SAVE CURRENT TRACK. If they don’t care about saving the current track go to step #3.
#3- To realign the boat icon simply press the MENU button when in the GPS screen and select CLEAR CURRENT TRACK.
Once you clear the current track the boat will immediately realign with the track.
In a very very few cases pressing CLEAR CURRENT TRACK doesn’t realign the boat icon and the track. In these cases so far RESTORING DEFAULTS will realign the boat icon and track.
