I am going to be going on the ice for the first time in 12 years and am going to be on ottertail and Pickerel (in the Ottertail area) and am looking for info on the lakes and what to fish with. What is the prime bite times and what are the fish eating? Is there a strong bite on now or should I just stay in the cabin and watch the Superbowl Hype? Also, what baits are good to have along and what will the fish jump through the hole for?

    Thanks in advance!

Here is the word from several reliable sources. I have not been out on this bite. OT is turning fish on the break in 15-19′ on the midlake humps early am and just before dusk to 1hr past dark. Average size fish is ranging from 13-16″ with some 17-19 thown in once in a while. The best bite, however, is the daytime bite in 40’….yes 40’…shiners are also key…
