Fished French today in “Caderlick?” bay, fishing was slow. There is a rift in the ice that almost completely bars travel to the main body of the lake. I suggest being very careful. We found ice conditions ranging from 3 to 9 inches, with lots of rotten/black areas that we didn’t investigate. I stopped at Madison on my home and I think Wednesday morning I will be dragging the duck boat down to the narrows and give the crappies a try.

We couldn’t get the boat in at the access, so we payed the resort on the West side of the lake $5 bucks to throw the boat in off their point. Unfortunately the Crappies didn’t really cooperate. Caught a couple of small ones. The ice is extremely hoeycombed, if the wind continues to blow it won’t be long before things really open up.
