A Couple Big'Uns Today

Tried a SE MN Trout stream today after a tough start to the opener yesterday. Tried a new section of the same river with a different approach but with better results. One was 22.5″ and the bigger hook jawed male a tad over 24″. The bigger 24″ went after my husky jerk rapala 4 or 5 times before I finally got him to commit. I know the pictures are terrible but I was by myself and haven’t figured how to take Trout pictures alone without hurting the fish too bad.

I even lost a 7 or 8 lb. monster that broke me off in some wood. With one head shake he broke my 10 lb. fluorocarbon like it was nothing. Too bad for him, I know where he lives and will visit him again. I know most guys have the Walleye bug now but I need get my hands around this Trout before I think about Walleye fishing.

applause that’s awesome. Those big ones are a rare breed so way to nail a couple.
