Thanks, so far we have been running and only been able to come up with the smaller perch. Hopefully the bigger ones will come out to play.

What year King Quad? I bought a brand new 07 750 and had issues with the charging system which would cause issues with it starting in very cold weather. I was told the issue came from the digital speedometer / instrument cluster. Maybe the fixed it in later models.

Great suggestion Will. Looks like I will need to stock up on some new gear. Don’t think my walleye tackle is going to handle fish like that!

Thanks for the info as well as the offer Ryan. I am getting really excited about the pending move. Will be packing the hunting and fishing gear on the truck first to ensure easy access once I get out there! The wife and kids will not be coming out immediately so I may be able to get out chasing game and fish sooner vs later.

Brennon I will take you up on that offer. My family will not be travelling with me for a while so I will have some spare weekends if you are willing to put up with me!

Question for this group, I have a 2007 1750 Tyee which I love to fish from. Is it an appropriate boat for that area and the reservoirs? Or should I store it here and sell it in the spring?

I will be in the Salt Lake area, looking forward to the move. Like trout but really like to walleye fish more. Will make do with what ever is hitting!

What pitch prop do you have? My 17 ft Tyee with 115 merc 4 stroke and 16 pitch prop hits 40 with me and my 6 yr old. I do not have a kicker but when I get a few more people in fishing with me the 38 mph mark is regular.

Well, their plane was late…. go figure. And they did not buy their licenses on line so we had to take care of that. After all said and done we were on the water (St.Croix by Hudson) at 630 PM. Launched and started out, was not going overly fast but must have had a loose wire, my locator blanked out on me. Slowed down to idle speed and turned it back on. While it was booting up again i made the comment that I hate driving blind on unfamiliar water and sure enough the back of the boat lifted, crunching grinding sound and I found some rocks. Toke some chunks out of the skeg and gouged up and bent the stainless prop pretty good but still operational so it could have been worse.

Good news, we started to fish and had two fish in the boat within 5 min. Large sheepshead and very respectable Blue Gill. Many bites after that but not able to put anything else in the boat. Turned out to be a beautiful night so we still had a good time.

    Thanks for all your input!!

I agree Joel that I will most likely leave it on the sled but….just in case I wanted to get out and clean out the carbon so to speak, I can!

I only have a single seat on it, but with the otter box on its actually pretty comfortable to sit on so I think my kids and some friends who need a lift out to the fishing hole will enjoy the added back support.

Thanks Mike, the croix is a good suggestion as well and I may have to check that out. Not sure if my Tyee fits the bill as a smaller (shallow water) boat.

Skuff, I think they need to be rebuilt! Go through the process and figure out all the “ins and outs” then when you come up to my house next you can “help” me rebuild mine!😗😄

I had a 2010 Suburban, the good: great tow vehicle, can’t match the room, and had pretty good gas mileage for a large vehicle (22 hwy, 16 city, 19 MPG avg over 89K miles driven).

The bad: Had it in for repair on a fuel evap issue 9 times, the rain rails were rusting to the point of disintegration, and the final straw was burning oil at 82K and the huge puff of smoke coming from it on startup…

I had bought a 01 Toyota Sequoia that was fantastic, no rust, ran like a top, and had good room(really like this vehicle!). Toyota recalled that vehicle under concerns of it not being properly rust proofed for Northern Climate. For the recall they undercoated the entire vehicle. I was very impressed a company would do that to a vehicle that at that time was 13 years old. So, I Traded the Suburban in for a Toyota 4 Runner. Should have been a Sequoia but could not pass up the deal on the 4 Runner. Had it for a year now and very happy with it still.
For the first time since I was 14 years old I do not own a GM product. Don’t know that I will go back.

I am one of those guys, hunt near Winona with my aforementioned 390 slug gun and BDC, Groups with sabot slugs are fantastic and pie plate hits at 180 yds consistently from a bench.
could have tried further out but the range was limited.

Gonehunting, did you find your sled and get that box mounted…if so what are your thoughts?
I found a medium otter monster and have a date with the fabrication shop next month. Not sure if I should go with steel, preference would be aluminum framing. Either way I would like to have the frame mounted via “pins” for easy removal in the rare event I would trail ride.
Any of you IDO’ers have any other suggestions for me prior to the cutting of the first piece of metal?

So begs the question for those people coming from out of state with their own boats. Do they need to take the MN liscencing test to operate on MN waters? Or will their own state requirements suffice?

Gizmoguy, I borrowed a sharpie before I left the customer service counter and wrote the date down on the top of the battery for that exact reason. Her comment when she saw me doing that “Sir that will not do anything unless you have the receipt.”
I was already done with her, thanked the other rep who gave me the sharpie, did not respond to the comment and just left.
I did call the Customer Service number on the back of my CC from the car after I cooled down. That rep was very nice and apologetic, started to offer gift cards etc. Told her that I had not called about the incident in question to try to get free stuff, but to express my frustration with the incident.
