You can do it without removing it from the motor end if you are very careful with the saw.

April 13, 2014 at 6:09 pm #1403905I had a new 2002 Alumacraft trophy with a a 115. The dealer say no need for a transom saver. I had a separation on one side of thr transom and Alumacraft warranted it, very good about it. They also told me at the factory to use a transom saver. End of story

February 13, 2014 at 8:12 am #1388323In most cases the owner needs the training more than the pup. That is where the gtg sessions shine. You will learn a lot and that will trickle down to the pup. Mistakes can sometimes be very bad for first timers.
