So Wisconsin can catch/release bass starting May 3rd?

Does that include the St. Croix River bordering Minnesota?

494 ramp in South St. Paul has been open for the past 2 or 3 weeks. Water is coming up. Be careful if using the north ramp under 494 bridge, it needs to be replaced soon.

Red Wing is always open if you launch out of the place by the dam. Ice on all lakes still.

Agree. What has happened to Brodziak this year, the guy looks like he lost all drive to play. Last season, the guy was a stud, scoring big goals and crushing people. Bouchard shouldn’t even see the ice, and Stoner is wearing out the side boards/glass. I wish we were able to see Dumba at least once this season. How does a guy make the opening day roster but then gets sent to Houston and never see the Wilds roster again. Scandella should have replaced Stoner earlier, I hope Stoner is out again today.

I absolutely can’t stand the talk on KFAN lately about how advancing to the second round is a must for this team to be considered successful. The signing of their two best players is only a start. This season has really revealed which players the Wild can live without. Butch, Brodziak, Stoner. All those guys are easily replaceable with equal talent. Guys like Coyle, Zucker, and Brodin are reason to believe the best is yet to come. Next year the goal is to run away with the division.

The problem is when they have there has been little forecheck and little punishment on the blackhawk defensemen.

This is my biggest complaint, when we do dump it in, they have no forecheck. Or they have to work so hard to get it out of their own zone, they have to throw it in for a line change. The last 2-3 weeks, the d-zone has been awful, seems like they are just standing around.

I believe we are on the same page as well. Yes, the TD takes his 20% cut in this case and the remaining 80% gets distributed to the bass anglers. I was a bit confused why people were fighting me on this.

In a fishing tournament, regardless if you catch fish or not, you are required to payout the prize money. If nobody catches a legal fish, you have to distribute that money out to all participates. TD does not get to keep that money, it’s the anglers money. I don’t think this is looking for recourse, it’s the only way to handle this situation.

I had to go back and read your post.

I think the guys thought you were saying ALL the money should have been distributed to the anglers.

What you said was, the ANGERS portion should be distributed as it’s their money. The TD keeps his portion for permits/insurance/expenses/ect.

Bottom line is he followed the rules. How can there be a disagreement?

I think we’re on the same page.

What exactly am I wrong about? You think TD should keep all money if no bass are caught in a tournament?

Money was split up after the Tourney Director took his 20%. He didn’t go away empty handed, he got paid.

Bass Division should have been cancelled considering you couldn’t get south of Pepin. Should of been thrilled as hell to get back something after catching nothing, really? So you think the TD should get to keep that money? ha ha ha. You people.

lol.. 15 miles of fishable waters beats not fishing at all (plenty of room for 12 boats).
Cancelling because you cant get across pepin would be like cancelling because erie is muddy or its snowing at LOW.
Money could have been raffled or stuck in championship purse or split up after expenses ect.. Its the directors decision and no matter which way he goes someone will be unhappy.

Folks from the wrong tourney…. the walleye division… using live bait??? or a completely different bass tournament on that same body of water north of Pepin?

    Quote:

There were bass caught the day before and the day of, just by folks from the wrong tourny.

So your saying it should have been canceled because the folks that only fish the lake couldn’t adapt.

    I see…

This is laughable to me… If I sign up to fish an event under the premise that you catch fish you will win and then I didn’t catch a fish… and now I am looking for recourse?

Take your marbles and go home and try again another day… Or maybe tournament fishing isn’t for you…

Agree with your players that shouldn’t be with the Wild next season. It’s hard to watch Brodin play when he doesn’t hit anybody. He’s a good defensive defenseman.

Okay, so you would suggest a makeup tourney for the bass guys. What happens if some of those bass guys had something going on for that makeup date, how is that fair? This was the only way to do this, nobody weighed in a legal fish, everyone came in first. Mark takes his advertised cut for holding the tourney and pre-tournament meal. Then you divide the 80% by the number of anglers and give them first place money which included the big bass money. It’s the only way it could be done. It’s how the FLW and Elite Series would handled such a thing. This isn’t difficult to figure out. If Kris Brantner would have weighed in a single fish that was 15 inches, kris would then win first place money plus big bass. If Mark paid out 4 spots, the remaining 3 spots would be totaled and paid out to the other anglers considering they officially took second place with zero fish plus I believe mark paid out 2 big bass spots, so the second big bass spot would also be distributed to the 2nd place finishers. If Kris caught 2 fish, he would have taking first place money plus both big bass pots, and remaining anglers split the remaining money. In this case, Kris wouldn’t take the entire pot, he only took first place.

Bend/Broke the arm, not sure what arm you are talking about, but I’m not taking about putting it in gear and juicing the motor. If you are getting pushed down current and it gets lodged between something and doesn’t have enough power to lift, you start your motor, put it in reverse to take the tension off the rod. It’s not difficult and doesn’t hurt anything.

Or if this happens, you can just start your big motor and back up with the Talon deployed to unlodge it from whatever it’s stuck in.

Sounds like a great way to bend/break the arms.

I hope this is true considering I think the current away whites are originals from 2000.

Yes, it’s the Houston Aero’s that are moving to Iowa.

I’ve heard the Wild (big club) will be getting new road whites next year. Also rumors are they will look something like that.

Or if this happens, you can just start your big motor and back up with the Talon deployed to unlodge it from whatever it’s stuck in. The Power Pole has the same issue if it gets pinched between something like rocks. I’ve had a Talon all last season and it has stayed glued to the bottom in all conditions so far. I would only purchase the 8′ model. I am hoping to get a second Talon this spring. $100 rebates end on May 1st and ebay has Talon’s for cheap.

    Quote:

I have the 8Ft talon on my Ranger and i really like it. However, in really strong Current it sometimes sticks in between the rocks. It holds very well but it gets stuck in the down position without enough power to pick itself up. you have to crank it up out of the rocks by hand. I have had it for 2 years and have only had to manualy riase it a few times, but If you do alot of river fishing i would consider a powerpole.

I agree with Stoner. The guy can’t play. He can’t make a tape to tape pass out of his own zone. Everything is high off the glass and out of the zone. He was good just the last season or two. I also don’t think Koivu should be playing with Parise. Top line should be Parise, Zucker and Pominville if he comes back. Brodziak and Clutterbuck are worthless. Clutterback hits a player 2 seconds after they made a perfect pass to a teammate, yet everyone at Excel cheers for that garbage, I don’t get it, never will, I hated clutterbuck for the past 4 seasons, hated when we resigned up.

They are still missing a lot of pieces. Parise and Suter were nice, but we have to many weak spots still. Stoner is horrible, Koivu disappeared and Kanopka doesn’t deserve to wear a Minnesota Wild sweater. Zucker should be playing with Parise and Pominville. Koivu, coyle and Setoguchi sounds good, Cullen Rupp and Bouchard sound about right. Clutterbuck and Kanopka shouldn’t see the ice. Sorry, I know the Wild fans like Clutterback, I can’t see why when all he does is hit players 2 seconds after they make a perfect pass to get out of there own zone and he scores an occasional goal that any 1 or 2 million dollar player can/will score. What the heck happen to Brodziak this year, looks like he lost interest in playing for the Wild.

    Sounds like a nice fish.

My question would be if you are not going to bother to net that fish why even bother bringing a net.

Net was tucked away in a compartment. Have the Frabill net that slides up the tube. Looking back I should have attempted to grab the net, but I have caught Walleye in the past fishing Mille Lacs. It’s just when I put my fingers in her gills, it was like needles pricking my fingers, so I let go, hoping to regrip, well, I didn’t get that chance as she slowly swam away. She was every bit 17.8lbs that I believe the current record is, she was a biggin’.

I fished this area/spot for probably a total of 3 hours with only catching this one pig and funny thing was, it was my first cast to this spot. Not a single bass, carp, catfish, nothing. Unfortunately, catching this fish and not landing it will make me go back to this area/spot every single time I go out there, even though it’s really not a bass fishing spot.

I also replaced the foot pedal on my PD 65 within the last 2 years. Last weekend, my TM would turn but not spin the propelor. You may have already tried this, but I unplugged the foot pedal and plugged it back in (wiggling it around some). It began to work again. I’m assuming I had a bad connection in my plug in for the foot pedal. I’m not looking forward to replacing my TM. Those babies are expensive. KK

Yeah, I had the same problem, and it wasn’t the first time it has happened. Maybe like the 4th time with two different electric Minnkota trolling motors. I think they should seriously upgrade those pedals.

I have tried everything to make it work, but this time, it just doesn’t seem to want to turn the propellor.

Yeah, I know… If I had the extra $500 for the Maxxum, I would of gotten that. But since I’m only in a 18foot Lund. Spending money on the Maxxum just didn’t seem appropriate. When/If I finally get a Z Comanche, I will get the best, obviously. 60thousand dollar boat, here I come.
