Open water

Hi all, I’m just wondering if anyone knows of any open water that’s open to fish April 22ish. I’m in winnipeg manitoba and willing to travel a bit. Red wing is about as far as I’d like to, it’s 8ish hours for me. Anywhere in northern mn, north and South Dakota would work. I’d love to be ice fishing haha. I’m particularly interested in walleye, especially big ones.

Red Wing is always open if you launch out of the place by the dam. Ice on all lakes still.

Is the rainy river closed to walleye around then? I’d suggest the rainy river. Its closer to you and there are some big walleyes in there. That is if its still open to walleye fishing during that time.

Scratch that idea. I think it closes the 14th for walleye. Pool 2 if your into releasing big females. Pool 4 if you wanna keep some.

Not sure what the conditions are/will be in Devils Lake ND at that time, but ND has a continuous season.
