Update, I got a new email yesterday saying they have sent a check for the deposit amount. I’m crossing my fingers it’s true.
It’s unfortunate there will be winners and losers on the resort side. The ones that make it will probably see a lot less competition and the ability to raise rates in the short term. Could also allow for new people to buy resorts.
    Tough times.

So what’s weird about this is they said they were mailing a check for a refund of my deposit in May. It went to the wrong address, so they said they were sending a new check about 3 weeks ago. When I asked where the check was today, they said they aren’t refunding because they don’t have the cash but will probably in 2021.
If the border does open, they are going to send me a check for the deposit.
All the other vacations I had planned had comparable refund policies and all of them returned the money.

Raised 5 muskies yesterday on the submerged rocks behind Isle of Pines. Threw everything at them but they were only interested in a bucktail. I think there were 2-3 fish in a small area. One was a monster.
Other than that, a walleye and keeper perch earlier in the day in 25 FOW on shoreline break in the narrows.
    Water temps are 61-63.

Marked a lot of fish in 28-30 FOW on the deep side of the long ridge in Big Bay. None of them were eating, no matter what I threw at them.
Boated a nice keeper pike throwing a bucktail.
    Two more days up here!

I’m headed up tomorrow and fishing out of Forest Lane through Sunday. If I get anything going (eyes/musky), I’ll post.

Great weather today, terrible bite. Got skunked after 13 hours on the water. Tried fishing North, South and in all depths with all presentations.
Water temps were at about 52.
Didn’t actually talk to anybody that caught an ‘eye.

Is it realistic to think it may hold on until next weekend? Temps look good.
Have wanted to try for lake trout through the ice for a few years.

Definitely little perch. I picked up a cheap Aqua-vu this winter and it’s already saved me from chasing marks not worth my time.

Go all in on it. My wife and I did it about 8 years ago. Then got my dad on it and it’s been life changing for him too. Once you get your immediate issues handled in the next year, critical you at least maintain the process of monthly budget review. We now review the baby steps quarterly to make sure we are still on track.
Amazing how much money goes to things you don’t care about.
I never got into the religious aspect but the simplicity is what appeals to me.
    Good luck on your journey!

Thanks for posting. Headed down to Decorah for a day on the water next Friday. First time back fishing since college. Do you fish that area much?

Thanks for the excellent info Grouse and P2F! A little frustrating that it’s very hard to do DIY but oh well.
Slovenia looked like a good option but would probably run into similar restrictions there.
I’d go a week earlier to make the end of September but I’ll be up on Vermilion with my dad that week. ????
    Thanks again.

Thanks everybody for the tips. Went out at Lion’s Levee and had a good afternoon. No fish but were able run the boat through everything.

Some of those ice bergs are big!
