I’m headed up to camp at the new state park for a few days with my son.
Any one been fishing the area stuntz bay and north east is my typical fishing grounds. Usually try for a meal of walleye and then go on to smallie or even pike / musky fishing

It’s been excellent lately. Big hatch last weekend had everything going crazy. You’ll do fine. Water temp was 72-75 last wknd. Heading up myself tomorrow.

Good luck. I’m headed up tomorrow, fishing the west end. My buddy goes every weekend and he said Last week he went back to minnows and a bottom bouncer on the mud flats, big Bay Area (Out from Cherry Island I think?). Limited all three days last weekend.

I might give that a shot Sunday before going home. We’ll see how I do. Staying at Pehrson’s Lodge.

It’s a awesome time of the year to be up on that lake. Fall is such a good and beautiful time up there. Again I feel like I’m the only one who fishes the east side of the lake, I’ve actually never been west past the casino

Tough day today after 3 days of solid cold front. Blustery, rainy and windy on top of poor fishing. Managed to hook a couple decent northerns trolling, other than that pretty insignificant. Tomorrow is a bluebird day. Hopefully a shift in the weather makes a difference.

How’d you do Bearcat? I didn’t get any eaters. Caught 2 walleye the whole weekend, a cigar and a 23″. got a few ok northerns, very small smallies. I think that cold front put the hurt on things. This week things are turning around, warm all weekend now. Even marked schools were tight lipped. My lone walleye came from a weedline at sunset on a big chub in about 9′. Water temp on that end was 59 degrees.

I’m headed up tomorrow and fishing out of Forest Lane through Sunday. If I get anything going (eyes/musky), I’ll post.

After the cold front the water temp was around 59° last weekend on the east side. Few walleyes I got came on creek chubs.

Forest Lane is the same resort I stayed some 10 years ago. Went a couple different years toward the end of September through early October. Super nice folks that owned the resort and was beautiful area this time of year through early October fall colors.

The only drawback was being on Big Bay, some days depending on the wind made it nearly impossible to get out.

Fishing was always inconsistent. One good day, maybe nothing the next 2. Fish always seemed to be on the move, never in the same spots 2 days in a row.

    Good luck and enjoy!

Marked a lot of fish in 28-30 FOW on the deep side of the long ridge in Big Bay. None of them were eating, no matter what I threw at them.
Boated a nice keeper pike throwing a bucktail.
    Two more days up here!

Evenings or early morning, take a half hour and work through the shallow rocks between Strawberry Island and Birch Point. If they’re not there, you’ll know within a half hour. If they are there, catch what you can…they’ll be gone the next day.

Also near the narrows towards the east side of the island and the adjacent shoreline it drops off like a cliff. An occasional large muskie have been known to be seen there. whistling

Raised 5 muskies yesterday on the submerged rocks behind Isle of Pines. Threw everything at them but they were only interested in a bucktail. I think there were 2-3 fish in a small area. One was a monster.
Other than that, a walleye and keeper perch earlier in the day in 25 FOW on shoreline break in the narrows.
    Water temps are 61-63.
