Sorry guys, Don is just one of the partners and I could not get him to come down to $35-40 a bag. They are asking $55 a bag. It sounds like Bob has an in on some other beans, plus I can still get the beans that Bob used last year if any one wants them.

There is a feeding ban in SE MN right now year round, you can not put out supplement feed but you can plant food plots.
There is a ban in part of SE MN, but not ALL of SE MN. The ban is for Dodge, Goodhue, Olmstead, and Wabasha. This could cause confusion by giving misinformation.
March 14, 2012 at 12:25 am #119375I dont have a problem with some one shooting multiple bucks in a season because it has proven to work in other big buck states. I have a problem with some one shooting multiple little bucks.
March 14, 2012 at 12:18 am #119374Hey Bob I have a very good relationship with Don Higgins. He invited me down to his farm in Illinois, because he wants to work with me on a project. He also wrote a nice article for my website. I can see what I can do for a price for you. I could also haul some bags home. Let me know what you think.
February 22, 2012 at 2:48 pm #118840They are definetly a little different from state to state. I cant even begin to tell you how much better Iowa’s show is compared to MN. Definetly worth the drive down. I would rate it Iowa, WI, Illinois and then way back MN in this area.
February 21, 2012 at 1:17 pm #118806I stopped by last week, seems like a sweet new place. I wish I saw this before they started leagues. I need to get over there to shoot. Got to love a new shop less than 15 minutes from home.

This is as rock-solid as it gets at least from the pages of my cookbook. Scale to fit your needs, would assume cutting into thick steaks would work best for this marinade. This recipe is for about 4 butterflied thick steaks (approx 1.5″). 24 hours to 3 days, adjust to your level of flavor. 24 hours is more than enough for a great taste.
Ingredients:
-1 can coke
-1/4 cup or less of soy sauce (low-sodium is best)
-teaspoon or so of minced garlic
-handful of chopped fresh parsely
-fresh ground black pepper
-EVOOI haven’t found anything yet that’s better, cheaper, easier, or more flavorful. Grill to med rare at the most.
Good luck!
Joel
Joel you are right on about this marinade the only thing that I do differently is add 2 table spoons of Dales steak seasoning. It is a liquid you can find in the same aisle as A-1 in Walmart. Gives a little smoked flavor.
February 21, 2012 at 1:00 pm #118804I have a spot where I see a ton of bucks during the summer and hunting season, but once it gets close to January I hardly ever see any bucks, and rarely find a shed. But there are a ton of does that stay there. I believe the bucks move to a different spot so they dont have to compete with all of the does for food during the winter. I put corn out in this area like you, but it doesnt matter the bucks just wont stay. Have you found many sheds in this area in the past?
February 21, 2012 at 12:54 pm #118802Looks like you have a few to choose from Bob. Good luck this year
.
February 21, 2012 at 12:52 pm #118800This is the best winter for wildlife I can remember Bob. I think you are right and the bucks are really going to benefit with some HUGE increases in rack size.
February 21, 2012 at 12:49 pm #118799Unfortunately MN has seen the glory days of being the best big buck state. In my opinion there are to many factors for the state to get back to the top. The Legislature, DNR, and other organizations like the MNDHA wont let it happen with their views of how to run things. They are more concerened about gun hunters, and until that changes it wont get better. Having the gun season during the rut is definetly a factor. Party hunting is another, how many times have you herd someone complain there is no big bucks around after he bragged about shooting 4 bucks? Dont get me wrong I like to gun hunt, but I dont shoot a buck just so I can brag about it. I also dont have a problem with some one shooting more than one buck, but just dont shoot a bunch of young ones.
