You need to spend more time in the ice forum. Chris has been very negative towards both. SELL OUT!

I work on GM’s, I am not part of the UAW. All cars, and trucks have issues. Some more than others. I own 3 toyotas and love them. After owning a Tahoe and having it 3 years and putting over 5k in parts in it I bought a used 2002 Sequoia. I love it. I have all the records and since new and 67k it has been repaired twice….a recall for ball joints and 1 stabalizer link. They make descent products.

The Tundra is new so it will have issues…..look at the 2007 silverados….they have issues, just like every new model ever made.

The UAW is killing the auto makers. These people are WAY overpaid. Its just a matter of time till the US loses all its manufacturing. To think a guy that putts nuts and bolts on makes more than the people like I that have to fix the cars, and we need to know A LOT, not just a simple parts replacement. Good God a new Tahoe has 25 modules/computer on it!!!!!

As for E85 the foreign car makes are always conservative with this stuff, if it works for the us maker they’ll make it better…..the 1st electric car was a GM…EV1, now who builds the best hybrid….TOYOTA.

God this makes me happy to read…..my 90 Suzuki sips gas at about 3gph on average and about .5-.8 gph trolling. I guess those big boats aren’t always better.

I think that’s a good idea. I had a similar problem with my Princecraft. I had corrosion around the front deck. I always thought it was from electrolysis. I have seen a couple other boats with this. I hope my 06 alumacraft doesn’t have this issue.

Sounds like a plugged main jet in the carb, none easier than an older evinrude like yours. Get a carb kit, blow thru all the jets with air after cleaning. Good Luck

No more G-loomis for me. I love my GL2 but the IMX which was $200, has broken now 2xs in 5 years. I am sick of mailing it in and giving them $20 to send me a new one. I have yet to send it in, its a 6′ spinning rod any interest give me a PM. I’ll sell cheap. They don’t need a receipt for replacement or so Cindy in warranty says. If I get a replaced unit then I will sell for a lot more $$$$$.
I have 4 fenwicks (cheaper ones w/5yr)and all have been good to me.

Lets face it, most people who buy pickups don’t even look at Toyota. Most of the die hard American buyers are truck owners and that is fine. I just think this is a ridiculous post being a GM tech I see a lot of common/cheap issues that WILL NEVER BE HANDLED correctly……steering shaft clunks anyone??? Yet another “new” design that will fail is out once again…………..I think Toyota’s biggest downfall is Bad Dealers, at least in my area, Milwaukee.

1st Toyota admits to an issue and IS FIXING IT!!!! Ever hear of GM piston knock/slap…google it! How many Dodge trannys go out a year???? Have you driven a Ford lately??? Seriously, until you drive a newer Toyota and own one don’t bash them, they make a good product. Yes this will hurt them but at least they are taking care of the customers. More than GM will do for its own employees. My 02 sequoia will 65k has been in the shop less than my Dad’s 2006 silverado…..both good trucks, things happen.

I got mine all in and set it up and it cuts out all the time!!! I think the engine vibration may have something to due with it, at slower speeds it works then up high WOT it cuts out. I will be moving it and hopefully it helps.

I set it up and then it loses it!!!! I called lowrance…a joke and waste of time. I have yet to run in the water, just idle with ear muffs on. Everything works, but after I turn 332 off I lose my saved nmea data such as fuel tank size. I also can not reset fuel used. There must be a way!!!! I see the instance is at 255….I tried 0,1,and 2. Wouldn’t hold unless at 255, this whole thing is kinda odd to set-up. Horrible instructions, nothing about set-up. Easy enough to hook up but the program/set-up makes NO SENSE!!!! Any advise???????

lowrance told me to wrap it with that heat reflective tape. I hope it works out cause I sure like it where it is. The cable routing is unnoticed.

Man would I be PO!!! Luckily I listened to the guy at cabelas and bought the cheaper 332c. Everyone who sells these knows the 334c is not good. I would try to get a unit exchange/repair from Lowrance with the external GPS puck. Mine works in the garage with the doors closed and its brick!!!

I have been told the DEALER must do this with the diagnostic tool they use. I had mine done when it was in for warranty work.

I currently run a 15 pitch apollo stainless prop. It runs about 5200-5300 rpms. The fastest I’ve ever seen was 36.8 gps, 5 g gas, me 220lbs, 2 batteries, bowmount ap55, 2 seat and that’s it. It PLOWS normally to a tune of 34-35 wot. Alumacraft is taking her for fixin’ april 20th, thank god!!! The gas mileage, the gas mileage!!! We all suffer if I keep driving this thing like it is now!!!! What kind of rpms do you run with that prop??? I have a ballistic 15 pitch I have yet to run. When they are done I may have to get rid of it, darn it!!! I got it new for $125!!!!!! I do think your hull is a little different than mine, I’m 90″ wide!!! Also 5 batteries!!!! Where do you put them all???!!!

Thanks for all the replies. I have a problem with the ziploc bags. I have had filets shift or sink to the sides or bottom and get freezer burnt. I always get all the air out too. I also hate all the room it takes up!!! Sometimes it also takes awhile for the bags to freeze completely and since we are on vacation a lot fishing this becomes an issue.

Leaving the motor run and go to the front of the boat to hook-up the trailer!!!!………….sounds like an accident ready to happen!!! I’d pay the $$$ and get a bunk trailer. I have seen to many people almost or get hurt loading/unloading a boat. Really 1 medical bill and that new trailer could have been paid for.

great point!!! I have a paid for 95 tahoe that pulls well but gets horrible mpg!!! Like 10-14! So my daily driver is a 94 corolla that gets 34-39 mpg!!! Plus the tahoe is our 3rd vehicle between my wife and I and insurance is cheap!!!! The corolla has paid for itself a dozen times over or more!!!

A trailblazer does not get good gas mileage. Its very comparable to a truck with a 5.3. The inline 6 has an odd power band also. Drive one and floor it at certain speeds. Its like the engine and trans hate each other. Buy a used 2000-2002 tahoe and get an extented warranty. I work on Chevys and trust me on this.

I love my Alumacraft 165 cs navigator. It’s got a 90″ beam and is 16.5 long. I have a single console and it is rated for a 90. My 90 etec trolls around 2.0-2.5 mph, on a lake. Upriver is slower. Trailers easy and fits in garage well. Plus tons of storage for a 16′ boat…even has 2- 7′ rod lockers!!!! Of course fishing with 4 people the bigger the better but will a 18ft boat fit in the garage???? Lucky me its just the wife and a couple labs.

I work on these everyday. So here’s the problem with the dome and buzzer. The little black switch on each side of the dash. When the door is closed it goes in, when it is open the switch pops out. Yours is old and worn…get both, they are cheap $10 each or so. You’ll see how goofy they are when ya take the old ones apart…they always break on removal. Do that 1st. You can PM me on other stuff, but fix this 1st, they do a few other things as well through the lighting system.

I think mine was put together during deer hunting or something!!! We have a customer at work with a 95 c/k with 350,000 miles. Original motor, trans, and differentials!!! He pulled a 20ft race trailer for years. That’s unbelievable to me. Crawl under the back end of the lr tire feel the brake line were it goes up and around the top rear of the gas tank. If its all crusty….its time. Mine was bad but may have lasted another 6months to a year, but ya don’t know till they break. If you have ever lost brakes before its not a lot of fun. Especially towing or out-of-town. I didn’t want to risk it anymore. Good luck. You got a good one!

I have a 165cs Navigator very much like the Dominator. I love it!!! When I wanted a few more interior lights I called alumacraft and got a human right away. Parts were ordered in 5 minutes and at my house in 2 days!!!! Get that with a Brunswick product! Great ride for being 16ft long. I do wish the 165cs was rated for a 115 though. I have a 90 etec and 36-37 is top speed. Then the 17ft is rated for a 150 $$$$$.
