Looking to upgrade my perch setup. Seems like these 2 rods are top notch.

Both are great rods. I have 4 DH rods as I have double vision result of a brain aneurysm. I put titanium springs on the tips of three of them to help see a light bite better. My last two rods I used brite green and the latest was two tone orange with chartreuse tip. I have the wraps in contrasting colors. Colors made it as I can see this not only against white snow, but equally as well against the black inside of my flip type portable. My first two rods were more of the grey graphite color with Brite wraps and although great rods, they are not as easy for me too see. I got on a bite this past weekend of small perch and caught over a hundred that were around 4″. While that is not what I intended, it verifies that I was able to see and hook lite bites, so due to my handicap, the color selection on DH’s rods made it for me. I also like the tip action. On the larger size, it has handled a 27″ walleye and northern around 30″ granted I use a decent grade of reel with reliable drag. You won’t go wrong with Thorne Bros rods either. Whatever your decision is, you will enjoy using a quality rod and most likely want another.
I was just coming on to post a rod I built on the DH Perch Pounder blank. Built it last year and used it very little. Nice rod, just selling it to fund the rod building addiction for more rods. Has a 5.5 inch hand glued and turned handle and Pac Bay fly guides. Built full length at 34 inches. I was thinking $55 shipped to your door. It’s in very good condition.
Let me know what you think.
I have a couple rods built by curleytail and absolutely love them. Great craftsmanship and attention to detail. If jason or dustin doesn’t take it then I will.
Thanks Greg! Maybe I should have offered $75. Just kidding. Somebody sent me a pm right after I initialy posted and he will have 1st dibs on it if Jason decides to pass, but I’ll let everyone know.
To all that were interested, the Perch Pounder I mentioned in this thread has been sold.
Thanks,
Tucker
