Coming up tomorrow from SE WI with the kayak…. Looked at river gauges and such but always struggle to compare to an average. Is the area running close to a normal flow and height? I’m in the backwaters as possible, but do get into the main river now and then.

Chuck, the Mississippi at La Crosse is just over 6 feet. I’d say over the last 5 years it’s been around 5-6 during most of the summer. So it’s running a little faster than normal if anything. You shouldn’t have any trouble at all. Good luck!
Perfect…. Thank you. Up a little helps with some of the skinniest of waters I want to access as well. Can’t wait to get there!
