Scouting elk in CO

    I Just got back from a quick scouting trip in CO. for 3 days in the mountains, we got a lot accomplished. Averaged 20 to 50 miles a day by atv and 6 to 11 miles by foot. Glad to know the lungs are in shape…feet and legs are sore.
    Got on 3 different herds of elk. Saw a 5×5 and another bull sparring, cows bedded, and heard some bugeling. Leaves are just starting to show some light color change. Seems late compared to most years.

    Wild fires are very close to my A and B spots. Need to keep a close eye on that.

    Can’t wait!

    You wouldn’t believe how much ash was settling on our camp at about 25 miles away from the nearest fire. Turned a black truck gray
