I was looking for some new species for my aquarium and my guard knew just the people to talk with. We visited a family where fishing is their livelihood. These people don’t have a lot but they sure were kind people. The path to get there was a challenge in its own.

I was amazed at the variety of species swimming in that stream.

    Gouramis, Tilapia, Barbs & Eels

    Peacock Eel

    Butter Catfish

    Striped Mystus

    Barb in spawning colors

    Way cool pictures.
My two favorite are the Peacock Eel and the Striped Mystus.

What did you end up putting in your aquarium?

I think a fat kid like me could really test their engineering ability.

Thanks again for the pics! Did you end up with all those in your aquarium?

I have all of those species represented in my aquarium right next to my lazy-boy recliner for further observation and study. If they are not in my aquarium then they are kept in my outdoor bait tank for further use. I have to keep my own live bait because they don’t have baitshops like we do back home.
