    Has anyone been out lately?
I tried last weekend by the Maiden Rock/Rush river area. Lots of boats running massive trolling spreads but I didn’t see a lot caught. There’s bait everywhere on graph. I just caught a couple tiny sauger running cranks.

Almost everything you said was the same for me last weekend, in fact almost the same area doing the same thing, with a few saugers around 15 inches.

Found some shorties in the Bay City flats over the weekend, and a couple of small legals in the back channel. Water temp was around 75 degrees. Pretty slow though.

I tried again Tuesday. It was pretty muddy. 2 keepers and a few rough fish on the lake trolling cranks.

Any recent reports on the trolling bite around maiden rock or lake city? Trying to find my best option for Monday

Sorry just saw this but was out Friday around Lake City. Tons of bait in the area and lots of fish on my graph but could not get them to bite on the cranks we were pulling. When I first pulled up I though, man, this is going to be easy! Then 3 hours later had two shorts. Oh well.

I tried again last weekend. Boats everywhere, fish everywhere. I didn’t see see or experience any catching down by the cab line or head of lake.

Last Friday (the 9th) temps were 58-60 degrees and since then we’ve had quite the cool week.

Where we fished yesterday in the backwaters the water temp was still in the lower mid-50s. Lots of cold wind on the water there lately so I’d expect the water to be cooler yet today. I don’t think today’s little injection of warmer weather will bring anything up from the downhill temp direction, at least not where the wind hits the water.

Had 51 degrees yesterday. Found a couple limits with my neighbor. Tried a few tactics. Pulled 3 ways with sticks and picked up a couple unders. Then pitched plastics and got a couple more. Then pitched blades and that was the ticket. Nothing big, just nice eaters. Plus a big flathead.

thanks for a report Joe. I have all week off next week and hoping to get out 2 or 3 more times. water temps are about perfect for the bite to pick up real quick.

did ok today. bite died shortly after noon for me and looked like every other boat cleared out as well. no limit here but did keep 2 really well fed eyes to feed the family. another handful of small saugers and some white bass. seems like quite a few boats at the dam, especially for a Wednesday. dubuque rigs got me a mixed bag of saugers and white bass, the blades got me the chunky eyes ripped vertically in current seams. I pitched some plastics for about 15 minutes but I just did not feel it where I was at so back to what worked for me. I would throw up some pix but just me and my pooch most of the time, until it gets too chilly.

don’t put the boat away yet! full moon this Saturday so no excuses really other than a robust wind gust or two.

    water temps were 40-44

Has there been many boats down there during the week? I’d like to make trip down, but don’t want to play bumper boats.

Amazing weather today. It was bumper boats. The fish were biting so so. I think most boats caught a fish or two, but I saw a lot of shorts. Blades, Dubuque rigs, jig and plastics, jig and minnow all seemed about the same.

Was thinking about heading over Friday afternoon for a few hours but if it has been, and will be, super busy maybe I’ll hold off.

    Thanks for the report mnfishin

It was crazy busy today. Glad I got out early. I was hoping more would be hunting. The bite was pretty slow but I managed to get 4 pretty nice sauger’s, a 13″ crappie, a channel cat, and another blue sucker. That is my second blue sucker this year. Majority came with dubuque rigs and hair. Got a couple with cranks.
