Just wanted to share a fishing report with all of you. My friends and I have been going up to Lake Pepin every Labor day week now for about 18 years and this year was one of the best for fishing (although almost all of them have been good). We limited out on white bass and had a ball catching them. We caught almost all of them using 1/2 oz chartreus Little George’s and fished pretty much only on the Wisconsin side of the lake just a little north of the Pepin Marina and just south of Deer Island. Most of the fish were in excess of 2 pounds with some being a little over 3 pounds. We also caught a few walleye, sauger and channel cat. Great time and great fishing. If you have never been to Lake Pepin chasing the white bass in September, you need to go.

A 3lb White Bass is a SOW!! They must be gorging themselves on the shad.

Thanks for the report. I doubt I’ll see a White Bass run down here on Pool 7.
