Johnson 50 hp ?

    Hello
    2000 Johnson 50 hp I noticed water spitting out of back of motor, see picture.
    Seems to do this only at Idle, tried to look as driving at speed, did not see any but hard to do while driving.
    I never noticed this before, is this normal?
    There is good flow and pressure out of the water pump hose.

    normal,this is where the thermostat dumps out at along with exhaust at idle.
    if it does it stone cold it may be time for a new thermostat,very easy to change out.

    That is called the exhaust relief port. Unless an excessive amount of water is coming out I wouldn’t worry about it. Sputtering water is typically fine.
