I know i need a fuel filter with my big buddy heater. I just bought a heater/cooker. Do I need a fuel filter for that if I am using a 10# or smaller tank?

You do not need a fuel filter for either heater. I used that fuel filter gadget for one trip and threw it in the garbage when I got back to shore. I couldn’t keep my Big Buddy running with that filter, and when I took it off the Buddy ran great. I have been using a 20lb tank on my Big Buddy for three seasons now and I have had no trouble at all!

im pretty sure they dont recommend a filter for the heater/cooker. lots of guys still mount those sunflowers directly to a 20lb’er.

I also have been running the Big Buddy on a 20# tank with no filter for 3 years and no problems.
