Ice fishing lures

    Just curious, What is the go to lure for ice fishing? I am overwhelmed when it comes to choosing lures.
    Do you ever use the Rapala minnows?
    Do you just try several lures to see which one is working that particular day?

    The answer to that is as diverse as the fishermen you’ll find on the ice.

    Some of the more common “hot lures”:

    Ratso
    Shrimpo
    Jiggin Rap
    Demon spoon
    Gill Pill

    Thanks for the responses, I am trying for perch, crappies, and sometimes eyes. I’m going up to Finlay this weekend, and I seem to always be lending lures from my bro in law, I thought I could put together a small ice fishing tackle box.

    Any type of Glow jigs and don’t forget a light to charge them with.

    For walleye, here are mine

    1-Lindy Rattlin Flyer. The glo red is an awesome color. There are many colors to choose from.

    2-JB Lures Rattlin Varmit. Again, to start out glo red.

    3-Buckshot rattle spoon.

    4-Lindy Slick jig and the Lindy darter.

    Others I have used with success-Jigging raps, chubby darters.

    In about that order. I have boxes upon boxes of these eye lures and they all seem to catch fish but the ones listed above for me, do very well.

    Crappie

    Glo red #4 Demon’s on a deadstick while jigging a 1/8oz rattlin jig like a JB lure varmit.

    Panfish

    Ratso, shrimpo, JB Lures Ju-Ju in glo red. The Ratso & Shrimpo I typically tip with a piece of plastic.

    Gill pills also can get the job done.

    Overall as one can see, I am a glo red ice fisherman as that color has served me very well.

    I have not used the Lindy slick jigs too much yet as I have a hard time removing the Rattlin Flyer off my line.
