Want to help collect data for Mille Lacs Smallmouth?

Go to this website and enter your catch information:

Given that the focus is on walleye on Mille Lacs, opportunities to gather data for bass takes a back seat.

If you are concerned about the bass population, do your part and report your catch.

The heard does need to be kept in check, after all, it is a lake that is mainly managed for walleye. There has been a rush the last two weeks on the lake with most boats I have seen have been fishing bass. The keep season starts tomorrow, we will see how that works out. With the slot changes this year, and if I was a resort owner, I would be advertising in some of the states to the south and try to fill some cabins filled with bass fishermen. There is a bait shop in isle that is going out of business and having a big sale this weekend. They claim that the bass elite series tournament will bring in 3 million dollars for the local economy, we will see, I hope it does.

Another way to help is this GoFundMe site which aims to to promote catch and release alongside the Mille Lacs Smallmouth Alliance at boat ramps, tackle shops and resorts via billboards, signs and posters
