anyone out tonight after a few big bites? i always anticipate quality over quantity during these full moons and today worked out. sure it don’t always go like you planned it but feels good when it does. last time i hit this particular body of water was during the triple eclipse 5 years ago so decided to see if they would show up again…..can’t complain when first fish sets the bar at 14″.

I’ll agree with that but its a great excuse I can use to go fishing after work!
It wasn’t as great of a bite as other full moons but perhaps all the snow cover had something to do with it?January 7, 2023 at 1:03 pm #2171869My guess on the slower fishing would be the big high pressure system that moved in immediately after that winter storm.
Usually the first couple days of high blue skies following a significant low the fish are not in the mood in my experience. At least for walleyes and muskie. Always exceptions though…

Yesterday morning treated me to 4 walleyes with the biggest going 21”.
Yesterday evening picked up a couple more walleyes.
Last night was a decent bite. Picked up 3 more throughout the night.
Kept 3 fish for a couple of meals for my parents. This was on a small lake just north of Fergus falls.
