Saw two groups of ice anglers on west end of this long lake south of New Ulm yesterday…and numerous geese “skating” where the open water had refrozen. Shoreowner told us they were getting craps and eyes. Anyone recommend a knowledgeable area bait store or directions to the landings?

I have used the DNR website a lot this year. It have come in very handy especially for the guys who do not have a GPS. Pretty simple website just search for your lake and you can review a lot of info on all the lakes in MN

Well your not going to be able to keep the eyes right now, but Hanska is a good eye producer. Generally a good spring and fall bite. Mid summer is tough.
There are alot of 8-10″ crappies in there right now and I am sure you can catch them about anywhere.
As for a bait shop. I don’t think you’re going to hear of many right down in that area. Bobber shop in Mankato might have some current info for you though. Alot of guys from Mankato run down there to fish.
