What is the story on this lake? Heard both good and bad fishing reports. We are taking the horses over there May 5-7th, meeting some boys from NE Iowa, 1/2 way. Throwing in a few rods for some shore fishing. Bass, crappie…anything??
I have a map, but any info, tips appreciated. I’ve got an extra horse for any info

There are some good crappies in there- but can be tough to catch at times.
Best bet, if you don’t have a boat- is to try near the dam- Cast tube jigs, or minnows and floats!

I would try the whitebreat area for crappie, find some trees in the water, I’ve heard it’s low but with these rains who knows what the level will be

Should be on the rise and clarity of choc. milk by the weekend. If that’s the case, might think about Roberts Creek, which is on the N side of the lake. The inflow tube should be crowded w/ reason. Another idea too is below the dam. Heard the whites were going like crazy over the weekend.
