Hey y’all im pretty new to Chippewa Falls Wi area, was wondering how the fishing is out on Lake Wissota throughout the winter? i know its a pretty massive lake, so i was wondering if anyone has any tips or recommendations as to targeting and finding Crappies and eye’s? or if you dont want to give up too many details online we could possibly setup something to go fishing this winter. would love to hear some input, Thanks.

You are going to find that Wissota is not the best fishery by any means. For it`s size it really kind of sucks, my guess is there is not a good forage base to raise numbers of fishable fish. There are tons of better water close by.

Start on the small lake. Follow the masses and garbage trail. Small bays and fallen trees. East of the state park on the yellow river has some good areas.
Small perch spoon with minnow head to start.

    Thanks

Its hit and miss but for crappies as mentioned earlier best bets are little lake or state park area. For eyes focus on shallower flats and points, especially those with weeds
